Millenium MRI Welcomes Dr. Jose Pizarro, MD

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Jose Pizarro, MD, who has recently joined the Millenium MRI family. Dr. Pizarro is certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology and has a long career in radiology leadership and teaching.

Career and teaching

Dr. Pizarro's career in radiology began in 2001. In addition to practicing radiology, he has lectured extensively in Neuroradiology and has trained residents and fellows in Radiology.

Fellowship

Dr. Pizarro completed a Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, deepening his expertise in neuroimaging.

Leadership roles

Between 2001 and 2009, Dr. Pizarro held key positions at Orlando Health, including partner radiologist, Chief of Neuroradiology, and Chairman of Radiology. He also served as Chief of Neuroradiology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Orlando Health, where he gained experience in cancer imaging.

In 2010, Dr. Pizarro became the nation's youngest academic Chairman of Radiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, while also serving as Chief of Neuroradiology.

Premier Diagnostic Imaging

In 2016, Dr. Pizarro founded Premier Diagnostic Imaging LLC, where he currently serves as CEO.

Brain, spine, and trauma imaging

Dr. Pizarro focuses on the imaging diagnosis of injuries and disorders of the brain and spine, with a particular interest in trauma-related radiology. He is currently involved in research evaluating Diffusion Tensor Imaging in thousands of patients each year.
